The Secret Garden!

Well, really it's not that secret..

I did have a lot of fun creating it though & the new kids from across the road gave me a bit of a hand which was nice.

Here they are with Cissy & Tia making sure it works ok.

I'll be putting a garden setting down there later & hopefully as people wonder through they'll have a sit & just enjoy.

The Ball

Carrie may be gorgeous...she may be an excellent architect student but she's jolly hopeless at sending resized photos!!!

It looks like she had a lovely time.

I'm liking the dress too...how's it staying up!?

Kemp Beach National Park

This is something we've been meaning to do for ages & we were lucky enough to have Andrea, Katie & Alison join us on the trek. It was a surprisingly warm afternoon with a brisk wind blowing in from the East & we even spotted a couple of turtles on the Northern side splashing around near the rocks.

And you can also see we had a bit of fun with the camera!

Winter Moon Festival

We had an unevenful trip up arriving with just enough light to set up our camp which we did with a cup of chai & a slice of cake kindly produced by Paddy who with her horse float had arrived much earlier.

Our campsite on the back of the truck kept us off the ground which I was pretty happy with but next time I'd invest in one great big green tarp that would cover not just the truck but the table as well & even though there wasn't really much rain if it had poured down we'd have been in a quandary.

The big green tent behind the subaru was our 'main' camp where we'd all congregate to play music, catch up with each other & have cups of chai tea.

There were moments of creativity drawing with henna, playing guitars, making dreamcatchers, joining the choir workshop or even banging together pieces of wood to make a go-cart.

The music was endless, starting with morning poetry to get you going & then gorgeous, sensuous, temporal music that entertained the senses till midnight, however it did continue on quietly for those her wanted more.

Is it a sign of aging...I believe all of us were usually in bed around 11 or earlier!!

Very swish...what!

On the way home we stopped into Calen.

This is a store that puts Calen on the map...it has EVERYTHING!!!

We also called in on Clairview.

What a pretty little place (except for the midges)!

Something Ali had been craving since the beginning of the trip was the 'biggest' hamburger in Australia!! What you're seeing there is just 1/2 ...I tell you, they're HUGE!!!!!

This little girl had the loveliest hairdo...we're hoping we'll be able to copy it for the Village Arts Festival in June.

We had Easter Sunday with the Frish's out under the carport...again, I was fashionably late, but only just!

There was a lovely feast laid out on the table & the temperature was mild to warm. As you can see it was a fine sunny day & despite colds from the Emerald folk everyone was in good spirit.

Here's what we hoed into after a half hour break from lunch...the coffee went rather well with it!

Thank goodness!! I've been having so much trouble getting the beach shots from yesterday to upload....quite ropeable I was/am.

But they're up now & you can see the lovely sea & get jealous.

3 generations playing nicely together.

Dot's sitting on the rocks with the dogs & looking after Jonte while we play cricket. Not long after this who should come walking along the beach with their dog Portia...Maurie & Emma (up for the easter break).

Alayr - in the background you can see Ruffy, Dot, Jai, G/Dad, Kerrie, Kim & Shelley.

On Saturday we met Kim & Jai at the movies. They went & saw IceAge 2 while Ali & I saw She's the Man, then it was off to the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens for lunch & a looksee at the animals.

Jai was given some feed by some family so he got to feed the fluffy chooks. It was quite hard to get them to eat as they must get fed all the time!

Alayr & her room mates have decided to be rather selfless. They're going down to Palliative Care on Sunday morning & delivering handmade EasterEgg baskets. Ali's dressing up as the green teletubby with bunny ears. If only I had my camera!

Easter down at the beach
Kim, Shelley, Jai & Jonte brought Alayr down to Yeppoon late this morning & we all caught up at Dad's for lunch...typically I was a bit late & arrived at the tail end. (I thought we were doing the lunch thing on Saturday!) & even more typically Kerrie didn't know about it till right near the end! What a family!! :D
It did however turn out to be a lovely afternoon. The kids were given lots of rides on the quad by either Kim or Alayr before we walked down to Lammermoor Bch through the Lammamoor native gardens. It's quite a pretty little walk but there are lots of burrs about at the moment which is a real shame. Ali was kind enough to scoop up the dog pooh (Rusty's) with the lovely plastic bags provided by the Livingstone Shire Council then it was game on! Yes, we had a little game of cricket Jai style. We even ran into Maurie & Emma ( she's up for a few days)!!! They were out walking the dog Portia a lovely little black & white collie.
All too soon the day was over & we were kissing each other goodbye but only until tomorrow! ;)

(blurb from Shelley's email) the boys are wearing the easter hats jai made at kindy. he even made jonte a special easter egg basket, which he was so proud of. (he rarely does any craft as he is so busy outside playing with his friends- so we were pretty impressed too!)

Tia...she's a delightful intelligent dog that just loves being with you whereever you go.

Mr Bigglesworth fondly known as Biggles is Tia's best mate...& when it suits him he's also been to adore the humans as well!
